Travelling through a different culture can be a fun and sometimes shocking experience. Arriving in Fez the night before the Islamic offer fest (Eid al-Adha) was the latter kind of experience.

After spending several days photographing and exploring the city of Fez, we moved on to the desert. The western edge of the Sahara desert borders Algeria, the land border of which is closed. Sleeping in desert was rewarded with an Algerian sunrise and trek back to civilization. Moving north, we started hiking from the blue city of Chefchaouen to the Mediterranean sea. Hiking trails that have been used for centuries, crossing the limestone bridge of oued Farda was a highlight (see below). This bridge forms an important crossing for the local towns to reach the car-accessible road north.
